Believing, Doing + Succeeding

At some point last week, 30,000 miles in the air, I jotted down some thoughts. Okay, I basically jotted down a novel (I will spare you). But it is interesting, because I find that most of my inspiration and aha moments come when I'm flying or driving in my car. The beauty of turning down the wi-fi option.

With limited free time lately it has been tough to focus on my "life goals and dreams." Then, sky high, I thought of the most influential people in the world and how they all have the same amount of time in a day as you and I.

Psssh, I've got this. We've got this!

See, I am a firm believer that we all have something big to offer this world. The problem is that many of us either don't know what that is or don't want to put the work in to get there.

There are many forms of success. Success doesn't just lie in monetary aspects or starting a big company. It could come from being a good friend, a good parent, an employee, an athlete, a student, an artist, etc... We can be successful in many forms. But what stuck out to me when I started to think about success, was how many dreams we all have and how much of that gets done.

I've mentioned it before, but I love to ask people: If you could do anything in the world and nothing mattered (not money, education, unrealistic expectations, etc) what would you do? I love when you ask this to a child- they don't consider anything except what sounds fun. A superhero, fireman, ballerina...

Here is the point to this thought train (the Lindsay-ADD version).

We have the capabilities to create the life we want; To do the things we want and to succeed in what we wish to succeed in. But it isn't an easy road getting there, which is why you have to know what you are doing, love what you are doing, and believe in what you are doing.

Don't let life pass you by and feel like you never went for your dreams. I don't care how unrealistic it seems. You could be 65 years old and always had the dream of being a singer.

Start singing!

Maybe you want to open up a coffee shop, but you are scared. There are a lot of great coffee shops in this world. But is that your dream? Does it fill you with joy just thinking about it?

We can't let fear and comfortability get in the way of our dreams. Its up to us to live the lives we want.

Find out what you want to do. Lose weight, start a business, travel the world, be a good mother, whatever... And maybe the way you want your life to look or go seems completely out of reach...

Remind yourself that it's not. You are the designer.

Make a plan. Work hard at it. And don't stop until you succeed.
